สำหรับ “พระปิดตาพังพระกาฬ” หรือ “พญาพังพะกาฬ” นั้น มีความเชื่อว่า พระปิดตา เป็นภาคอวตารของพระเทวราชโพธิสัตว์จตุคามรามเทพอีกภาคหนึ่ง โดย “พระปิดตา” คือผู้อุดมด้วยลาภสักการะ ส่วน “พังพระกาฬ” คือผู้พังทะลายความมืดมิด พระปิดตาพังพระกาฬจึงเชื่อว่าเป็นวัตถุมงคลที่ใช้ในทางแก้ไขอุปสรรค พังทะลายความมืดมนของชีวิต นำบุคคลที่อยู่ในห้วงทุกข์จากที่มืดออกสู่ที่สว่าง ตามตำนานเล่าขาน บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของ พญาพังพะกาฬ หลากหลายเรื่อง เช่น บ้างก็ว่าเป็นภาคหนึ่งขององค์จตุคามรามเทพ บ้างก็ว่าเป็นขุนศึกที่เข้ามาร่วมรบ เพื่อกอบกู้อาณาจักรศรีวิชัยเอาไว้

อานุภาพของพระปิดตาพังพระกาฬนั้น ได้แสดงให้ประจักษ์แก่ผู้ที่เคารพศรัทธาและบูชาท่านว่า ช่วยแก้ไขวิกฤตของชีวิต สามารถก้าวข้ามอุปสรรคต่างๆ ที่คอยขวางกั้น ผ่อนเรื่องหนักเป็นเรื่องเบา ไม่ว่าเรื่องอะไรท่านจะช่วยนำโอกาสที่ดี ได้เจอหนทางในการแก้ปัญหานั้น หากในเรื่องที่ขอนั้นไม่เกินบุญเกินกรรมของตน และอยู่ในศีลในธรรม ย่อมส่งผลสำเร็จได้ทุกประการ

พระปิดตาพังพระกาฬอยู่ในท่านั่งขัดสมาธิเพชร ยกฝ่ามือทั้งสองปิดใบหน้า สวมมงกุฎเป็นรูปดอกบัวที่กำลังจะบานสองชั้น ข้างบนสุดเป็นรูปดอกบัวตูมมีกลีบสองกลีบ มียันต์ก้นหอยตรงสะดือ สวมกำไลทั้งข้อมือ ข้อเท้า

ด้านข้างทั้งซ้ายและขวาขององค์พระ มีอักขระพระคาถา “นะ มะ พะ ทะ”, “นะ โม พุท ธา ยะ” และ “อุณาโลม” ส่วนด้านหลังเป็นรูปยันต์ดวง สถิตไว้ในจักรราศี ล้อมด้วย 12 นักษัตร มีพญาราหูทั้ง 8 ตนล้อมจักรราศีไว้ด้านนอกสุด เสริมดวงของผู้บูชาให้อยู่เหนืออิทธิพลของดวงดาวและจักรราศี ขจัดปัดเป่าสิ่งที่ไม่ดีและคุ้มครองให้แคล้วคลาดปลอดภัย จากภัยอันตรายทั้งหลายทั้งปวงได้

For “Phra Pidta Phang Phakan” or “Phaya Phang Phakan”, it is believed that Phra Pidta is an incarnation of Jatukham Rammathep, the great bodhisattva in another form. The name "Phra Pidta" represents one who is full of blessings and the power of wealth while "Phang Phakan" refers to the force that breaks through darkness. Thus, Phra Pidta Phang Phakan is considered a sacred amulet believed to help overcome obstacles, break through the darkness in life, and lead those who are suffering from despair into the light.

According to ancient legends, Phaya Phang Phakan is mentioned in many stories, Some say he is another aspect of Jatukham Rammathep, while others believe he was a warrior who joined the battle to restore the Srivijaya Kingdom.

The sacred power of Phra Pidta Phang Phakan has been revealed to believers through experiences of overcoming life crises, breaking through various barriers, and easing heavy burdens. Whatever one asks for, this amulet is believed to help attract positive opportunities and provide solutions, so long as it does not exceed one’s karmic merit and remains within the bounds of virtue and moral conduct, success is believed to follow.

Phra Pidta Phang Phakan is depicted in the Diamond Lotus Meditation Posture, with both palms covering the face. He wears a crown shaped like a double-layered lotus in bloom, topped with a closed lotus bud having two petals. A conch shell yantra is inscribed at the navel, and he wears bangles on the wrists and ankles. On the left and right sides of the figure are sacred inscriptions bearing the Yantras:
“Na Ma Pa Ta”, “Na Mo Phut Tha Ya”, and “Unalom.”

The back side features a Cosmic City Yantra within the zodiac circle, surrounded by the 12 Chinese zodiac animals and the presence of 8 Rahu deities encircling the outer rim. This design enhances the wearer’s destiny, shielding them from negative astrological influences and protecting them from all forms of harm and misfortune.
