“ท้าวเวสสุวรรณ” คือพระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเหล่าภูติผีปีศาจอสูรและยักษ์ทั้งปวง ผู้เป็นอธิบดีผู้ทรงอำนาจแห่งโลกวิญญาณหนึ่งในจอมอำมาตย์แห่งท้าวจตุโลกบาลทั้ง4 ผู้คุ้มครองและดูแลโลกมนุษย์ สถิตอยู่บนสวรรค์ชั้นจาตุมหาราชิกาทรงอิทธิฤทธิ์อานุภาพมากประทับ ณ โลกบาลทิศเหนือ มียักษ์เป็นบริวาร

เชื่อถือกันมาแต่โบราณว่าภูติผีปีศาจเกรงกลัวท่านเป็นที่สุด ขนาดที่ว่าบ้านไหนมีรูปท่านอยู่แล้วละก็ ผีร้ายยังไม่กล้าเดินผ่านหน้าบ้านเลยทีเดียว ท้าวเวสสุวรรณจึงเป็นยอดแห่งวัตถุมงคลทางด้านคุ้มครอง ป้องกัน ปราบปรามเหตุเภทภัย อันเกิดจากคุณคน คุณผี คุณไสย มนต์ดำ ภูติผีปีศาจที่คิดร้าย รวมไปถึงเทวดามิจฉาทิฏฐิ ที่ชอบกลั่นแกล้งมนุษย์ ช่วยดับพิษร้อนต่างๆจากที่เกิดขึ้นจากสิ่งที่มองไม่เห็น ใครกลัวผีขึ้นสมองต้องมีไว้บูชา ต่อให้เดินเข้าป่าช้าก็ไม่ต้องระแวงหลัง

นอกจากนี้ท้าวเวสสุวรรณ ยังทรงเป็น “ธนบดี” ซึ่งหมายถึง ผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งสมบัติ เทพแห่งขุมทรัพย์ เป็นมหาเทพแห่งความร่ำรวย มั่งคั่ง มีอำนาจหน้าที่ในการรักษาสมบัติของเทวโลก ตามความเชื่อที่ว่าท้าวเวสสุวรรณได้บำเพ็ญบารมีมาหลายพันปี จึงได้รับพรจาก พระอิศวร พระพรหม ให้เป็นเทพแห่งความร่ำรวย

ดังนั้นท้าวเวสสุวรรณผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งทรัพย์ สามารถดลบันดาลช่วยเหลือผู้ศรัทธา ให้มีโชคมีลาภ ประสบความสำเร็จในอาชีพการงาน หากใครใคร่อยากมีอยากดีอยากได้ ให้วิงวอนร้องขอท่านด้วยความศรัทธา และดำรงตนอยู่ในศีลธรรม ท่านก็จะนำพาโชคลาภเงินทองสิ่งที่ปรารถมาให้ได้

"Vessavaṇa (Thao Wessuwan)" is the god of all spirits, demons, giants, monsters and ogres. He is the lord of the spiritual world. One of the 4 great powerful gods called “JaTuLokKaBarn” that has duty to govern retinues in the northern part and watch over human in the world. He stays in the first level of heaven.

People believe that he is the one who all ghosts must surrender and obey. Even which home has Vessavaṇa's picture, ghost will afraid to walk pass that home. Therefore, Vessavaṇa is the great amulet in case of protection from any bad invisible thing. Who has this amulet will not face with Spooky, Horror, Eerie, Wicked, Haunted, Petrify, Grim, and Creepy thing including Ghoul, Fiend, and Wraith too. Moreover, this amulet will fight against with black magic and also being a barrier to all negative invisible power. Very recommend for the person who is fearful about ghost.

Moreover, Vessavaṇa also was praised to be "The Lord Of Wealth" because one of his duties is maintaining valuable treasures in human world and heaven according to the legend that Vessavaṇa was blessed by Indra and Brahma to be the great god of wealth.

When Vessavaṇa is the great lord of wealth so, he can help and support the believers who has morality and high respect in him to have more luck, money and success in life.
