Luang Por Noppawan once said: "To possess a piece of the sacred drumskin is like having the teacher himself leading your path. Whatever you do shall succeed. You will achieve victory, suffer no defeat, and gain widespread fame and authority, like the commanding beat of a war drum. It brings loving-kindness and admiration, earning respect and renown like the sound of a drum calling people together. One may pray and make wishes, and they shall be fulfilled as desired. Grandfather Ruesi Narot is a venerable sage renowned for his purity, powerful asceticism, and deep spiritual insight. He is considered one of the most revered Ruesi (sages), especially in the realms of classical performing arts and traditional Thai dance and drama, where he is honored as the "Great Teacher" or "First Master", a spiritual figure who bestowed and inspired the creation of sacred artistic knowledge. Those who revere him deeply believe that he has the power to protect, guide, and support devotees through obstacles in life. This enduring faith has led to the saying: “Whoever venerates Grandfather Narot shall be spared from all dangers and harm". Among performers and classical dancers, there is a long-held belief that every musical instrument is inhabited by a spirit of its own teacher. Therefore, a ritual known as Wai Khru must be performed before playing or performing, a sacred tradition passed down through generations since ancient times. This ceremony serves to invite and honor the spiritual teachers, reflecting deep respect for the roots of the art and those who have passed on their knowledge. As time passes, musical instruments inevitably deteriorate through use. They may become damaged or worn and require repair from time to time. On certain occasions, fragments or pieces that break off from these instruments are seen as sacred by those with discerning eyes and deep faith. Such individuals often present these fragments to revered masters or spiritual teachers, who inscribe them with sacred yantras and consecrate them through ritual empowerment. It is strongly believed that these pieces carry a powerful spiritual force known as “Raeng Khru”, the spiritual force of the celestial teacher. When carried as an amulet, they are thought to bring protection, guidance, and support from the spiritual teachers, leading the bearer to success, smooth endeavors, prosperity, and abundance. Good fortune and blessings are believed to follow, just as if one were constantly accompanied by the teacher's unseen hand. For this reason, Luang Por Noppawan took the drumskin from an ancient temple drum, a sacred relic that had long been a part of Wat Sena Nimit. This drum had been used in various Luang Por Noppawan then cut the drumskin into smaller pieces. On the front of each piece, he placed an image of Grandfather Ruesi Narot, a highly revered sage. On the back, he inscribed the powerful Yant Trinisinghe (a sacred yantra for protection and power).
